Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Collins is a Mexican American sportscaster. She is employed by ESPN and works as a SportsCenter News Anchor. In 2016, she joined ESPN. The daughter of TV journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is bilingual since the age of nine. Her skills were instrumental in securing her first post as a producer assistant at Univision Miami in which she assisted the production of numerous shows, including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. After this it was announced that the CBS station in St. Petersburg employed her as a reporter for sports. In 2009 she relocated from Texas into Rio Grande Valley where she was a news reporter on KNVO TV 48 Univision. In 2009 she made the move to Rio Grande Valley in Texas, where she became an editor for KNVO48 Univision as well as Fox2 News. Also, she was often requested to fill in as anchors for the weather and sports. Later, she was anchor and reporter at Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was granted more responsibilities. She was a reporter for events like the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series, the Dallas Cowboys and the NBA Postseason and the finals of FC Dallas FC Dallas Stars. The Univision 23 channel also produced her local sports program Accion Deportiva Extra, on which she served as anchor. She was promoted to anchor the sports segment on Despierta America Deportes' morning show. She worked in the same position on Primer Impacto on UniMas Network, and Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta Collins' parents are originally from Veracruz Mexico. She was born November 22 the 22nd of November, 1984 in Mexico City. Also, she has a younger sibling. Her family left in 1992 Mexico and relocated to Miami. In 1992, the couple divorced soon after. In 1995, she was remarried Fabio Fajardo who was naval engineer, who passed away in the year 2006 after suffering from kidney cancer. The couple stayed in Canton Ohio with her older sister over the summer and was provided with an opportunity to work. As a senior in high school but having a clear vision of what she would like to accomplish with her life Antonietta was able to visit at the University of Mount Union to examine if it was a good fit for her requirements. She loved the campus. The university also provided her with the program she was interested in. After graduation, she enrolled at the university with an undergraduate major in media studies. The professor she had was Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM, and was student in her class, developed an ongoing friendship with the student. Mark's passion for journalism and confidence in herself inspired her. She, in turn was determined to achieve his expectations and never let him down.
